Get to know the robot.

Fierce Robot was started in March 2008 by Toby Schroder who is also the author of this about copy so he'll stop referring to himself in the third person... now.

Much better right? Ok so in March 2008 a friend of mine contacted me to see if he could push me into doing some freelance work. He had a great working relationship with a small agency but was unhappy with their SEO contractor. Honestly I don't think there was an issue, I think he was just being a pal by getting me out of cube hell. A good friend right? Anyway, onward!

SEO at the time was a hobby and curiosity for me. Something to keep me from losing it while working as a Network Engineer for a software company which I still refer to this day as: Penetrode. After arranging a meeting with the agency I started working freelance on the side in no time. By November 2008 it was clear that this freelance gig was going to become my career so that month I incorporated Fierce Robot, LLC in my hometown of Lincoln, NE. In December 2008 I gave my notice to lovely penetrode and started the new year as a one-man company working out of a spare bedroom in my house.

Today Fierce Robot is going stronger than ever. We have 3 resellers and have provided Web Design and SEO services for dozens of websites with excellent results which we would love to share with you. We recently added a couple new services which are Social Media Management and Online Reputation Management. Fact of the matter is if you're not on social media then you are missing a huge opportunity to actually speak to existing and potential customers. And, whether you like it or not people are talking about you online. You should know about it.

In January 2010 I moved the company out of my house and leased an office. I feel comfortable officially using the term "we" in the site copy as I've brought a copywriter and linkbuilder into the fold who also work remotely.

When you work with Fierce Robot you're working with me. I don't have any dreams of growing into a huge company. What you get with me is the no bullshit truth. I refuse to blow smoke about ranking promises. I'll evaluate your site and if it's a good fit for SEO or a redesign I'll give you my honest thoughts on what kind of ROI to expect. If it's not a good fit I'll tell you. Simple as that.

If you choose to resell my services I'll operate as a true white-label service, will help you sell and will brand all reports with your company logo. A good portion of my business comes from a couple small agencies who resell my services and I'm cool with that.
